D. A. N. E. Dane Angel Network Enterprise Dedicated to help Great Danes have a life of quality with dignity and love.Marmaduke Marmaduke is an 18 month tall black male with natural ears. He was rescued by folks that told his owners that he didn't belong at the end of a big chain. The owners said he had to be chained because he knocked down the toddlers. They gave him up easily but the rescuers had unaltered dogs in their house and rather than risk dog fights they chose to leave Marmaduke alone outside where he continued to cry at the windows to come inside. They finally decided to ask for help in homing him elsewhere so that he could live inside and have the company he was lonely for. He is a big sweet boy that will need some obedience guidance but so far he is pretty easy to handle, likes people and is good with dogs at the vet kennel. He is awaiting the results of all his medical tests and will be further evaluated in a foster home. Further evaluation of Marmaduke 11-22-02. Marmaduke meets people with confidence and a wag for everyone. He attempts to play with the resident cat and he meets other dogs with interest but with nice manners. He can be handled and touched all over with no resistance and even leans into it! He leans and lap sits and comes when he is called with enthusiasm. He is playful and puppyish but very easy to walk on a leash. He gives lap hugs and will smile with his ears at those he recognizes. He does need obedience training but will be a willing and quick student who will probably love going to class, and be the best looking! Marmaduke has decided, that pesky cats deserve a lot of his attention ! - so...he will not be adopted to any home that has one, being well mannered around them is a skill he still has to learn, and a responsibility in homing we take seriously.
