PIPER BEA
PIPER BEA! She is a black female,
approximately 4-ish in years, who was nearly euthanized
at the animal control for lack of anyone to adopt her.
She was apparently used for breeding, with obvious lack
of care and concern for her health (which we can assure
is not new to our Dallas/FW Metroplex!).
She has sores from no bedding, life-long elbow calluses from living on dirt, and other infections, plus heartworms on top of all that. She is being examined closely and will be given the necessary medications to make her feel better and to get her health up to par. She will be spayed after she is healthier and then heartworm treated. Her nature is a wonderful example of our precious Great Dane breed in that she is soft, sweet, loves petting and attention, and it is in her eyes that she just wants to please you. She gets along with other dogs that
have been introduced to her and loves everyone she
meets. She is a dog that everyone SHOULD love, but one
who nobody wanted because she wasn't the prettiest at
the animal shelter...not her fault, but the fault of
humans and the lack of care she received previously.
Once healthy, Piper will be a beautiful girl on the
outside, just as she is already is on the inside!
Update on Piper
Bea.....4-1-06 Piper has charmed all of the people
that have met her. Everyone has a smile for her. She
is a loving dog who gets along with other dogs, loves
kids, meets everyone like she has always known them.
Having had a tough life to begin with, she still shows a
wonderful Great Dane disposition, sweet, ready to love
and be loved, and she will be a stunning looking girl
when she gets her figure back with proper care, good
nutrition and stability.
